OUR HISTORY

Founded in 1991, Capital Appraisal Services, Inc. (CAS) is a real estate appraisal and consulting services firm supporting primarily NYC and Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester Counties, with their concentration of work being in the commercial sector and the high-end residential market. The firm’s principal, Mr. Anthony N. Troiano has been actively engaged in real estate valuations for more than 37 years and is a NYS Certified General Appraiser with his MAI and SRA designations and an MBA in Finance from Hofstra University. He has been a member in good standing of the Appraisal Institute since 1992. Ms. Taylor Banaszak has been the manager of the firm since 2004. Capital employs a full administrative staff with both full-time and independent fee appraisers and is fully integrated with today’s technology.

The strong combination of in-depth experience and education makes CAS eminently qualified for both the commercial and high-end residential facets of real estate valuations. The firm performs commercial appraisals on vacant land, proposed and existing office, mixed-use, retail, industrial and rental properties, and complex properties such as hotels. In addition, the firm has appraised over 10,000 residential properties throughout New York City and Nassau. Appraisal and consulting assignments are provided to public and private lending institutions, and for tax certiorari, court related matters and estate purposes.

Some highlighted properties appraised by the firm include the Woolworth building; the D&D building; the Coca-Cola bottling plant in Tarrytown; Starrett City (Market Rental Analysis); Gateway Plaza (a 1,712 unit mixed-use rental complex in BPC); and Amalgamated Warbasse Houses (a 2,585 unit mixed-use Mitchell Lama cooperative complex in Brooklyn).

Each appraisal report completed by CAS conforms to FIRREA and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) guidelines and is prepared in accordance with the Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice of the Appraisal Institute.
